FREEZE! Don't Make Another Move!

So, Mike and I, well Mike really, decided that we needed to just not be lazy and take down the original wallpaper that was left on the wall. Well, this proved to be a VERY TEDIOUS JOB! We went to Lowe's on Saturday night and bought this chemical remover (thinking that maybe it would work better than Downey, but it didn't). Anyway, I started using it on Monday morning, and guess what??? Yes, once I started peeling, the entire top layer of the sheetrock came off. Ughhhhh. I should have known, but I peeled another piece and it took a HUGE piece of the sheetrock off.
I called Mike and he quickly told me to: "STOP". So I did. I wasn't 100% sure, but pretty sure that I had made a huge MISTAKE!
Then Susan called and told me to check my blog because someone had posted on my wallpaper blog. Something about the wallpaper being glued straight to the sheetrock and her advice was to stop because removal would lead to damaged sheetrock. Too bad I had not read the advice first. Thanks though Cindy because I think that helped convince Mike to just "stop removing the wallpaper."
So now, Mike has been busy repairing the sheetrock--luckily it's not too big of a section. Then we will just prepare the walls and paint on top of the wallpaper. Hopefully it will all work out and look nice.
One more time just in case you forgot: I HATE WALLPAPER!!!!! Smiles...
