On Sunday, I was released as the secretary in Primary as well as a teacher in Relief Society. Although, as with most releases, another calling is not far behind. This held true for me. My new calling is First Counselor in the Primary. I'm excited for the opportunity to continue to work with children. Children have the sweetest spirits, and I know my testimony will be strengthened working with them. I also know that I will learn as much from them in this calling as they will from me, if not more. I am truly grateful to belong to a church were we are given the opportunity to serve.
For those of you who read my blog who are not members, every member is given a "calling"---or an opportunity to serve. These callings come from the Lord. Not only do these callings strengthen one's testimony, they also provide us with the opportunity to gain skills or talents we may not have had previously. In our church, no one gets paid monetarily for their service. It's all done voluntarily because of our love for the Lord. However, I can not say that I do not get gain from my callings held. Our family is richly blessed. The Lord gives us so much more in return. Maybe even more than we deserve, and for that I am grateful. Without Him, we would be nothing.

Hooray! You are so wonderful with the kiddies! I'm excited for the Primary. Oh...I'm back, but then next week the whole fam will be heading to OH for the Applegate family vacation. We have a niece getting baptized. Go, go, go! It gets tiring, but it is oh-so-fun!
Congratulations Andrea! I know you will do a great job - as always. It makes me so happy when dedicated and loving people like you are called into primary!
