Leaving school for the field trip.On Friday, Cecily and her class along with Mrs. Clarke's first grade class went to Planet Gymnastics and O'Charley's. I had to sub that day. It was Honors Day at our school and a teacher had asked me to sub for her on that day shortly after Christmas holidays. So, since I could not go, Mike went---and boy was Cecily happy about that. Both of my girls love hangin' out with dad!
Cecily was really excited about this field trip. She LOVES Gymnastics. She loves to tumble and flip. She does it all the time at home and she is REALLY good at it. I know I'm her mom, and all mom's seem to overly brag about their kids (it's just what mom's do), but I seriously think this is one of her talents and I feel guilty all the time that I have not put her in lessons because I think that with the right training, Cecily could go far. But, I'm just a lazy mom. I keep forgetting to look into it, and when I have, I keep missing the deadline to register her. Sorry, I know this was suppose to be about the field trip, so I'll get back to it.
I spoke with Mrs. D later that day to see how it went (Mike took Cecily home after the field trip). She said that she did not know who had more fun Mike or the kids. I said, "I told you he was a kid at heart!" He really is. I think that's one reason my girls love him so. He is A LOT of fun.

Mrs. D also informed me that he enjoyed getting the children all worked up and that she had to threaten him that she was going to move his clothes pin. This was all because some of the parents were taking their time getting on the bus when it was time to get lunch and Mike got the kids shouting, "WE WANT FOOD, WE WANT FOOD!".

Mrs. D said the kids all loved loved him and were having fun. I guess Mike calmed down a little once it was time to eat, because that was pretty uneventful (or so they say).
It makes me happy to know that my girls have such a wonderful bond with their dad. He really is a great dad---the best! And for that I am grateful!

Mrs. D put him in charge of Cecily and four other girls which he deemed, "Powerpuff Princesses".

The "Powerpuff Princesses" at O'Charley's.

Mrs. D telling Mike that she is going to move his clothes pin.
Look at Mrs. Clarke in the background. I can just hear her saying, "ban Mr. Odom from future field trips." LOL.

Cecily and Mike making a sad face after getting "THE WARNING", but it didn't last too long. They are all smiles again.

Here is a few more pictures at Planet Gymnastics.

Waiting for her turn.

Can someone answer this for me? When did jumpy slides become part of gymnastics, or for that matter any other sport? It seems like they pop up everywhere.
