Peeping at the Peepster

Have you ever felt like someone was watching you? Really watching? Well, I've been feeling it a lot lately, and this time it is not my imagination.

When we moved into our home, I started getting the feeling that I was being watched. The neighbors on one side of us have a teenage son. I have found out that he likes to watch people. I first noticed it after a few days in our home and I told Mike that it creeped me out a little and I thought something must be "off" with him. A few days later, we met our neighbors, who are extremely nice. The dad explained that his son is mentally handicapped. Then I felt really, really guilty for saying what I had said to Mike.

However, it's starting to creep me out just a little again. Now that the weather is nice, we are spending A LOT of time outside in the pool and in the backyard. On Monday, the girls went swimming. I was sitting outside with them and I heard a noise coming from the other side of our privacy fence. So, I looked. What did I see? Half of a head pop up (for any of you who ever watched "Home Improvement" remember the neighbor, Wilson? that's about the same amount of body being able to be seen). The neighbor's son had dragged a stool or something that allowed him to be tall enough to look over at us. I looked at him several times and he never seemed bothered by me noticing him. But he stayed there for a LONG time just watching.

On Tuesday, when Mike came home, the girls were outside swimming and I was peeking out the window watching our neighbor watch the girls swimming. Mike came up behind me and scared me. He asked what I was doing. I told him that I was peeping at the peepster. Mike told me that he does it all the time. He has peeped at Mike, me and the girls. I've thought about telling the mom and dad that it creeps me out when he does it, but I don't want to make bad neighbors, and I don't want them to think I'm bad because after all, he is handicapped. Plus, maybe he is lonely and he just wants to make friends. I don't know....

I guess the one good thing is that he keeps an eye on our house. When we went to Disney World in Feb. , the Jordan's picked up our mail for us. Jason said that everyday he came and checked things out for us and guess what? He was being watched too!

Here is a picture of us catching the Peepster peeping. It's a bad picture because I was trying to take it through the blinds in kitchen. He is the little blurb next to the red line on the shed.
