Our Final April Birthday!

OUR BIRTHDAY GIRL!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy, Happy Birthday Cecily. Today, we had such a good day celebrating the birth of our second daughter. Mike and I both showed up and had lunch with her. Although, Cecily will admit, Mike was much more fun. He tried to get the kids to all start chanting, "We want ice-cream!" It was duty free lunch and I was afraid we were going to get in trouble with the cafeteria ladies so I told Mike to stop and I had Cecily hand out sugar free ice cream sandwiches to her classmates to celebrate. The kids LOVED it!

When Cecily woke up this morning, she told us all that she wanted to go to the Skating Rink for her birthday. I really don't know why she loves this so much. She has only been skating two times in her life and it's not like she is a super speedy skater. But it is her birthday, and her wish is our command, or so we thought. Come to find out, the skating rink is closed on Wednesdays and Cecily cried her eyes out. How could they be closed on her birthday. I explained that we can go tomorrow night when they open, but she said, "It won't be my birthday then." I explained that there is nothing we can do about the rink being closed. I offered other alternatives, but she did not want to hear it. I finally told her, that she could continue to cry about it, but that wouldn't make it open. I think she understood because she stopped crying and made us promise that we would go the next night. Which we agreed too, of course.

She also got to pick where she wanted to eat--McDonald's. You can tell she is only 7 because, if someone told me that I could go anywhere and eat, it surely would not be McDonald's, but she was happy. So off we went to McDonald's.

When we got home, we sang, "Happy Birthday" and had a chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting(I forgot about the strawberry ice cream in the freezer). Mike gave her her birthday spankings this morning. What's cute is that Cecily wants to cash them in when she feels like it. She says, "Give me 2 now, and the rest for later."
After cake, Cecily wanted to play Tumbling Tower (or Jenga). We had a blast. The tower lasted a lot longer than we thought. Each turn, we kept thinking it's going to fall over, but we managed to keep it going for about 20 minutes. So who made it fall, Mike--I think he did it so it wouldn't fall on the Birthday Girl. Sweet Daddy!

It looks like we will be skating tomorrow night and don't forget in the summer sometime--we still have Waterville. I love celebrating our girl's birthdays, because they get so excited, but I have to say with all those April birthdays, I'm looking forward to May!
