Pokemon anyone? Help Me!!!

Ariel's birthday present finally came in today. The new Pokemon game-Pokemon Explorers of Time. We had to go and pick it up right after school. I have always hated, I know that's a strong word, but it's true, Pokemon and all those other games, cartoons of the like. I don't understand it, nor do I want to. But Mike seems to think that it is fine and it drives me totally insane. I thought with Cecily, being the pink girly, girl that she is, I would have someone on my side. But oh no. Guess what Cecily asked for for her birthday today? That's right, my little Disney princess loving girl asked for ---Pokemon Explorers of Darkness. UGHHH!!! Oh well, I guess it gives Ariel and Cecily something to bond over and who am I to come between two sisters. At least they are playing happily.

I agree that some, in fact many, video games are difficult to understand. But perhaps one of the reasons they are difficult to understand is all the jargon involved. Take Star Wars for example, a person unfamiliar with the subject might be confused with someone using the term "Wookie." To a normal person, a Wookie sounds more like something you leave with milk for Santa Claus rather than a big hairy gorilla-like alien such as Chewbacca. When I played my first online video-game earlier this year, I was confused when my good friends Bradlee and Ariel used terms like "brb" ( be right back) and "thx" (thanks). Video games would be far more accessible for the newcomers if people just used the simpler terms for things.
