I posted a while back about our family starting the Warm & Fuzzy. If you didn't read it, this probably won't make much sense, but oh well.
The past two days, I've gotten frustrated with my girls with what I thought would be "a great way to start our day", Yesterday, we had to say nice things about Ariel. I went first, followed by Cecily who said she just could not think of anything nice to say, so we skip her saying that we'll come back to her. Mike says something nice and we are back to Cecily again who continues to say, "I can't think of anything nice to say about Ariel. I've been thinking and thinking." We even give her a few minutes to think each time. So we break the pattern and go to Ariel (usually the person you are talking about goes last). Ariel states enthusiastically: "I'm AWESOME!" Can we say she obviously has no problem with self-esteem. Her previous days were things like, "I'm Hot in every way!" Which brings a saying to mind that my mom always use to say, "There's no conceit in your family. You have it all." So once again, we come back to Cecily, although, I really don't think that Ariel needs anymore positiveness in her life. Guess what? Cecily is still at a lack of words. Mike tells her that she has to the end of the day to think of one nice thing. Just one nice thing. How hard can it be? What does she end up with: I like it when her hair looks all crazy and messy.
And what did Ariel say about Cecily today: "I like that she stays out of my room."
So much for warm and fuzzy!
