Rain, Rain Go Away!

Last night, we had a huge thunderstorm. So bad that both girls came to our rooms early in the morning scared out of their whits. As I laid in bed awake (it's impossible to sleep with two girls, and Mike in a queen bed), I began thinking how blessed we are to have a home to keep us sheltered from the rain. Life is good.
Well, when we all finally mustered out of bed and headed to the kitchen for breakfast (Mike was on his way to Krispy Kreme because Ariel requested donuts instead of cake and we were all too full after dinner and Krispy Kremes are best when they are FRESH & HOT), Ariel being the observant girl she is, said, "OH no our roof is leaking". Our roof is only a little over a year old, so I thought she has got to be kidding (both girls have taken April Fools Day a little far this year, even telling teachers that I was pregnant). But oh no, she was right. We had a leak! Mike spent the morning trying to stop the leak, and finally got it fixed good enough until we can have someone come out and fix it. Thank goodness for friends too. Jason Jordan came over with some supplies and helped Mike out. So we are now hoping the rain will subside long enough for everything to dry up and let us get the roof fixed. I'm lovin' this homeownership stuff!

Mike is such a cute guy. I bet he is tons of fun as a dad! I'm so sorry about your roof. Uggh! i worry about things like that...I told Kit owning a home would be so much more work than renting. He'd like us to buy next station. We'll see. Tell Little Miss Ariel happy b-day from Sis. Applegate!!
