Riding a Bike...Easy as 1,2,3

Yeah right! After Ariel fell off her bike a few times from trying to learn while we lived at the apartment, she swore off learning. Whenever we would mention it, she would remind us about how she fell and hurt her "private parts" and was too smart to put that pain upon herself and that riding a bike was not a necessity of life! Well, when we move to the house something magical happened, she got on the bike and never stopped going. YAY! 1 down and 1 to go!

Now, it is Cecily's turn. Mike took off the training wheels and we started thinking that was a mistake. Cecily was scared and gave up. Then another miracle happened, on Saturday, she got out her bike and started peddling. She fell a few times, rode into our neighbors azaleas a few times, but in the good spirit of things got right back up and kept going until she got it! Here are a few pictures. Note the placement of the helmet (when she started, it was on right).

Cecily riding into the bushes! Hit the breaks Cecily, Hit the breaks!

Starting to get the hang of it!

I think I've got it!

If teaching my girls to ride a bike is any foreshadowing of teaching them how to drive a car, all I have to say is, "Mike I hope your ready!"

Hooray for Ariel and Cecily. I love the pictures of Cecily riding her bike. They made me smile. It is wonderful you are helping your children cultivate their musical talents. I loved your entry on the Warm and Fuzzy. I need to remember to find the joy in life. I am WAY too negative!! Thanks for the reminder that good things are what we make of them. Oh! Ariel cracks me up!!! She always has the best answers for things! That girl always makes me laugh!
